During a solo exhibition at the Atlas Center at the University of Colorado, Jen Lewin introduced the Moths. The three, soft interactive robotic forms are charged to movement by human connection. Moths are a participatory art piece; only by stopping and connecting physically do they come to life. The longer one stays, the longer the moth will continue to move even when the viewer leaves. Moths speak to light, to community, to gathering, and have an open ethereal dream like quality that will gracefully dance and glow in space.

During the Summer of 2013, contemporary American installation artist Jen Lewin introduced two of her sculptures, The Pool and Arc Lamps at the Biennial of The Americas in Denver, Colorado. Each sculpture provided a unique perspective for the public to view and interact with. Constructed in 2013, the Arc Lamps are five individual chandeliers constructed out of recycled oversized light bulbs and custom LED lights. The design was based off of the Edison Chandelier, using a similar construction but pushing the boundaries of scale by incorporating bulbs still being used in commercial lighting. Arc Lamps currently hang in The Studio (Boulder).
Created in 2008, The Pool is a large-scale interactive sculpture that invites each individual to move around, among, and on the platforms, watching as their interactions create washes of vibrant color through the sculpture.

Created in 2012 by American contemporary installation artist, Jen Lewin, Chandelier Harp installed at Luminosity in Lexington, Kentucky.
Chandelier Harp is an interactive instrument played by passing your body through the low voltage lasers that shine from the Chandelier Harp to the ground. Much like plucking the string of a harp, passing through the beams triggers custom circuitry and sensors to produce musical notes. Users play to create an ambiance that is individual to the moment of interaction. When crowds flock to it and people start to play independently, the group’s chaotic activity give the piece life, as if everyone is, unknowingly, participating in a musical symphony. Each ‘string’ will mix its own library of sounds to create a depth and tone that compliments the public activity and random or organized play.

For a second time in as many years, Burning Man’s Playa saw Jen Lewin’s Super Pool leave a mark on its participants. The Super Pool increases the diameter of The Pool and doubles the number of platforms in the sculpture, enhancing the number of participants that can join in the fun at any one time.
The sculpture invites each individual to move around, among, and on the platforms, watching as their interactions create washes of vibrant color through the sculpture. Like all of Lewin’s work, The Super Pool allows for an unprecedented level of interactivity, transforming the way we interact with Art and each other, bringing everyone together in the Art of Play.

Created in 2012 by American contemporary installation artist, Jen Lewin, Chandelier Harp installed in snowy conditions outside of e-Town Hall in Boulder, Colorado.
