Exhibition Details

To commemorate the 2020 opening of Tokyo’s new Takanawa Gateway Station, Japan Rail East commissioned Cosmos, Jen Lewin’s newest interactive artpiece. Comprised of spiraling LED pathways, Cosmos has been engineered by Lewin to perfectly process human interaction and creates a shared space and immersive experience for collaborative play. The site-specific work will be part of the Takanawa Gateway Fest opening in the summer 2020. Spanning 15,000 sq. ft., Cosmos is the largest sculpture ever to be commissioned from the studio and features flat, interlocking LED panels that are coded to sense and respond to impact and vibration by displaying beautiful, swirling eddies of light.
