Jen Lewin’s site-specific, interactive sculpture Aqueous returned to Descanso Gardens’s Enchanted Forest of Light exhibition during the Winter of 2018. Created in 2017, Aqueous invites all participants to move on, among, and around the sculpture, engaging in the Art of Play.
Derived from the Golden Ratio, each platform in Aqueous is created from a custom, rotationally molded form. During the day, Aqueous’ surface reflects the sky, audience and surrounding environment. At night, Aqueous engages visitors as they walk along its surface watching as their actions create swirling eddies of light.
