Paint Torch is a permanent outdoor sculpture by Claes Oldenburg. In 2010, Oldenburg and Jen Lewin met to discuss ways to elegantly incorporate technology and illumination within his proposed piece The Paint Torch. He had been inspired by some of Lewin’s artwork, in particular several illuminated pieces she created with Kreysler and Associates. They began working together almost immediately, spending over twelve months developing the subtle, yet elegant internal glow now seen within the piece.
