Favi is a bespoke interactive sculpture created to honor and reflect the agricultural spirit of Yakima Valley, a region deeply rooted in farming, pollination, and community interconnection. Rising over 36 feet tall at the entrance to the Downtown Yakima Valley Farmers Market, Favi is composed of 112 honeycomb-inspired tiles. The design symbolizes the essential, interdependent systems that support both bees and farmers, from pollination to harvest.

Crafted from 100% recycled plastic and mirrored tiles, Favi transforms throughout the day. By daylight, it reflects the landscape, sky, and rhythms of the surrounding market, becoming a mirror of the ever-changing natural and human environment. By night, it becomes an interactive beacon, glowing in soft, dynamic patterns that respond to touch and movement. Two interactive drums allow participants to shift color palletes, light movement, animation energy, and the dynamic rhythm of the sculpture.

Favi’s ability to reflect its environment by day and invite active participation at night makes it a living landmark, a connective and responsive presence at the heart of public life in Yakima. Like the honeycomb that inspires it, the sculpture invites visitors to become part of a shared experience of connection, cooperation, and play.
